The concept of Slovenia's pavilion at the Expo 2021 in Dubai, created by Magnet Design, has been recognised with an honourable mention in the interior design and exhibition space category at the Architecture Masterprize event.
The event's website says that the Architecture Masterprize honours designs in architecture, interior design and landscape architecture with the goal of advancing the appreciation of architecture worldwide.
Each submitted design has been evaluated by a jury, and the best projects were selected across 42 categories.
THE CONCEPT OF SLOVENIA'S PAVILION AT THE WORLD EXPOSITION, WHICH HAS BEEN MOVED UP A YEAR DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, REPRESENTS THE COUNTRY AS A GREEN OASIS IN EUROPE AND IN THE DESERT DURING THE EXHIBITION, HELD IN THE UAE.
The theme of the ground floor of the three-storey building is water, showcasing the country's sea, rivers, lakes, and particularly drinking water.
The first floor will present Slovenia's forests, while the second floor, intended for VIP visitors, will showcase the Slovenian economy.
The Slovenian pavilion will be constructed using glass, stone, steel and wood. Magnet Design also intends to use water in an innovative way both inside and outside of the pavilion, as Slovenia will be presented as a country rich in water resources, the company said.
